Service Announcement: Transition Manager Migration
Transition Manager Migration
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will be transferring core data from Transition Manager to ServiceNow.
The purpose of this announcement is to notify departments that data in Transition Manager will be moved into ServiceNow (also known as AlaskaNow).
Transition Manager has served as the inventory system for all State of Alaska applications, supporting systems, and devices ever since the Rapid Migration initiative. Over the past two years, Transition Manager has supported the collection and management of extensive system, server, and application metadata—encompassing more than 3,500 application environments and over 7,300 devices.
In an effort to preserve and leverage this information for future use, including system inventory, disaster recovery, and statewide IT strategic planning, OIT is in the process of transferring core data from Transition Manager and integrating with ServiceNow's architecture.
We have obtained approval through OIT's Change Advisory Board (CAB) - CAB approval CHG0041483. OIT is committed to expediting the move from Transition Manger to ServiceNow, while minimizing any impact to daily operations.
The Project Team has established the following key dates:
- Final day to update Transition Manger: December 10, 2025
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Week of January 19th
- User Training: Week of January 19th
- Migration Cutover and Go Live Date: Week of January 19th
Please note: Dates may change, and updates will be communicated, as necessary.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Joe Butler joe.butler@alaska.gov or Eric Sutton eric.sutton@alaska.gov.
