Webex Software to be Retired 3.15.23
Make the switch to Teams
On March 15, 2023, the state of Alaska will be retiring the use of WebEx software for virtual conferencing and focusing its user support for Microsoft Teams and Teams Live Events.
What this means:
Following March 15, 2023, O.I.T. will not be renewing licenses for the WebEx conferencing platform and O.I.T. will cease user support for this product. Recurring and new meetings will no longer be available through the WebEx platform. WebEx meetings with other partners can still be joined by utilizing the plug-in feature through your browser. Individual departments may decide to purchase their own licenses for users and provide line of business support for those subscriptions.
Make the switch to Teams
Microsoft Teams and Teams Live Events provides:
- A reliant meeting platform allowing for real time data sharing and the ability to hold breakout rooms for individualized communication and collaboration.
- The high level of production quality necessary for holding virtual conventions and relaying valuable information.
- The ability to convey knowledge to a greater audience larger than 200 attendees with Teams Live Events.
For users unfamiliar with Microsoft Teams, user guides are available on AlaskaNow on how to set up your Teams account, Teams live account and how to get the most from the Microsoft virtual meeting software. Simply type in Teams or Teams Live Event in the search bar.
If you have questions or need additional assistance, please submit an AlaskaNow IT support request or reach the IT service support for your department listed on our Contact us page.
